Aviation Industry Set to Defy Recession

Washington, DC, May 15, 2008 -- Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis for The Teal Group, a widely influential aviation consultancy, will emphasize historic growth in all sectors of the aviation business in a forthcoming webinar entitled, “Your Survival Guide to the Farnborough Air Show”. His optimistic forecast comes in spite of recessionary clouds on the horizon.

The webinar, scheduled for June 26, will provide insider advice on the best way for attendees to maneuver through the Farnborough Air Show. Sponsored by the web site Aviation Today, this timely webinar will focus on news, trends, events, and industry statistics that are likely to emerge at the UK-based air show in July, one of the aviation industry's premier events.

The weginar’s speakers will include Aboulafia and Michel Merluzeau, principal with G2 Solutions, an aviation consultancy. The moderator will be John Persinos, publisher and editorial director, Aviation Today. “The first simultaneous civil and military market upturn in decades is giving most aircraft manufacturers a huge and sustained boost,” Aboulafia says. “Despite the looming global recession, the aviation sector will more than hold its own this year – a sanguine fact that will become very apparent at Farnborough.”

In the context of the forthcoming Farnborough Air Show, both Aboulafia and Merluzeau during the webinar will reveal:

What to expect from Boeing and Airbus.

New alliances and partnerships that will be announced.

How the show will serve as a proxy for the worldwide aviation market.

The hidden surprises that await attendees.

New and unexpected mergers likely to become unveiled.

The difference between the PR hype and the market reality.

Which aviation executives are on their way up – or down,
…and much more.
