Pratt & Whitney Shares in Sichuan Airlines V2500Select(SM) Order

EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Company (NYSE: UTX), will share in an order for International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500 engines to power an additional two Airbus A319 and four A321 aircraft. With this order, Sichuan Airlines becomes the China launch customer for V2500Select(SM) and will extend this aftermarket agreement to cover their existing fleet of 14 V2500-powered Airbus A320 family aircraft. The deal is worth more than $370 million to IAE.

Under their V2500Select(SM) agreement, Sichuan Airlines will also become the inaugural China operator to introduce the SelectOne build standard of engines delivered after mid-2008.

The V2500-A5 is available in seven different thrust settings ranging from 22,000 to 33,000 pounds of thrust to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the A319 Corporate Jet.
