WASHINGTON, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- While bad weather made the pre-Christmas flight schedules of many American airports merely suggestion plans, the Pilots’ Association is claiming something different. They fault the United Airlines management for stranding thousands of travelers on Christmas Day. The airline stated on October 26 that it had canceled 5% of the day’s flights due to inclement weather, and delays had already forced many pilots over the legal monthly allowance of flying time. But the Pilots’ Association claims that the airline knew this, and that back up crews could have been arranged in advance. Instead, the statement continued, the airline had chosen to speak of the weather as an “act of God” and thus excusable.
