LOUISVILLE, Ky.,
July 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Transportation
Security Administration (TSA) has named Luz E. Ponce as federal security
director (FSD) for Louisville International Airport (SDF).
Part of the initial build-up of TSA, Ponce has held a variety of high
level positions in her more than four years with TSA. Since October 2005, she
has served as the TSA representative to the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain.
Prior to working overseas, she was FSD for Bob Hope and Long Beach airports in
California. She also served as assistant federal security director of
inspection and acting assistant FSD of screening at those airports.
"Luz Ponce is returning to the role of FSD with an even greater breadth of
knowledge to apply to the position," said Mo McGowan, TSA's assistant
administrator for Security Operations. "Her strong leadership skills and deep
understanding of the airport environment will ensure we continue to build on
the strong foundation in place at SDF."
Before coming to TSA, Ponce worked for the Department of
Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration. She was a manager in both the
Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth field offices.
