CHICAGO,
March 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A little creativity can go a
long way -- about 4,671 miles to be exact. United Airlines is holding a
suitcase party to commemorate its first-ever service between
Denver and
London
on
March 30, rewarding the designer of the best Denver-themed suitcase with a
trip for two on that evening's 4,671 mile inaugural flight from
Denver
International Airport to London-Heathrow.
On March 30, United is asking its customers to celebrate its new
trans-Atlantic service by bringing their packed suitcases to Pints Pub on
W. 13th Ave. in Denver for traditional British food and the chance to win two
tickets to London on United flight #948 at 8:20 p.m. that evening. A panel of
Denverites including Councilman Charlie Brown will judge all of the suitcases
at Pints Pub by 1:30 p.m. and will select the best suitcase to represent
Denver at 2:30 p.m. The contest winner will go directly from Pints Pub to
Denver International Airport for the inaugural United flight.
"We are asking Denver to show off its creativity and civic pride at our
Suitcase Party, and one lucky winner will hop on that evening's flight to
London," says Mike Scanlan, United's general manager at Denver International
Airport. "Nothing more than a passport, a decorated suitcase, and an
understanding boss will be needed to enjoy a trip to London."
Following two nights' stay at the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park, the
contest winner and a companion will return to Denver on April 2 on United
flight #939, departing London at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Denver at 4:14 p.m.
Suitcases may be up to 62 inches long, wide, or tall, including designs,
and United will waive oversized baggage fees if the winning bag exceeds
115 linear inches. Full terms and conditions are below.
