A safety rating of the world's fifty largest airlines has been published by the German company JACDEC. The Russian airline Aeroflot got onto the list of "dubious" air carriers.
The German firm JACDEC is a centre for analysis of information on air crashes. It uses a special method for their discerning calculations. JACDEC factors in the number of air accidents, the overall share of passenger traffic, the actual loads carried and the period over which each company has operated in the market. JACDEC data says there are 22 airline companies in the world whose planes have never got into critical situations. Amongst the safest air transportation companies are two of the world's oldest and most traditional airlines – Australia's Qantas which was founded on 16 November 1920 and is the Globe's 11th largest airline. Next was the Finnish airline Finnair, functioning since 1923. That national flag carrier airline has not had a fatal accident since 1963, nor has any severe damage to its aircraft occurred since then, ranking it the second-safest airline of all time (behind Australia's Qantas).
