AgustaWestland to Build Helos in Russia

Italian helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland has signed an agreement with Russia’s Oboronprom Corp to assemble and sell the medium twin-engine AW139 in a suburb of Moscow. AgustaWestland hopes to tap into the growing Russian helicopter market while Oboronprom, a subsidiary of Russia’s state-run arms exporter Rosonboroexport, hopes to gain new production and maintenance competencies. The aircraft will continue to be marketed by AgustaWestland. For related news
