Today’s Best Opportunities in Rotorcraft

VIEW ON DEMAND

Despite the worldwide economic recession, the rotorcraft market is more than holding its own. Demand for the inherent capabilities of these lifesaving and productivity enhancing tools remains relatively strong, especially in the context of slumping sales for the rest of the aviation sector.

On the minds of all helicopter industry insiders these days is one overriding question: How long can this respite last? Will rotorcraft continue to weather the storm, or is the industry on borrowed time? And what are the best ways for rotorcraft decision-makers to survive today’s economic uncertainty? Anyone who flies, operates, builds, maintains, or outfits rotorcraft will find this webinar of practical use for their careers and their businesses.

Since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, military and homeland defense budgets have experienced healthy increases every year, to the point where Pentagon spending is now back to Cold War levels. Even in the face of today’s massive deficits, world military budgets are on track for modest increases in 2009. Much of this military and paramilitary funding is funneled to helicopters, considered the perfect tools for fighting terrorism and the asymmetrical guerrilla wars of the 21st century. These interrelated trends have kept rotorcraft sales afloat, as the rest of the global economy retrenches.

Many burning questions remain. As the global economy sinks deeper into recession, can the helicopter market maintain its relative optimism? If a severe downturn is imminent, how can various helicopter industry segments protect themselves?

Aviation Today has put together this webinar to answer those questions.

You’ll learn:

  • What was the real news to emerge from Heli-Expo 2009 in Anaheim?
  • Which helicopter sectors stand to see the best growth in the year ahead? A breakdown of prospects in the police, fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), utility, tourism, oil and gas, and VIP transport markets.
  • What are the hottest helicopter models right now, and why?
  • Which helicopter airframe OEMs are gaining market share – and which are falling behind?
  • What’s the status of major pending military contracts? A rundown of the imminent winners -- and losers. Are European-based firms finally making significant inroads in Pentagon and U.S. Coast Guard contracts?
  • What are the latest advancements in helicopter avionics? How are new electronics in the cockpit changing helicopter missions and flight profiles?
  • What are the latest innovations in Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) and other types of helicopter-related equipment?
  • What’s new in the much-needed development of helicopter infrastructure – e.g., helipads and heliports? Are operators getting the help they need, or are they still stymied by NIMBY (Not in My Backyard)?

What equipment do I need?

For the audio connection:
