CMC Electronics: Gordon-Smith, Award Winner
Michael Gordon-Smith, product and program manager for CMC Electronics, is the 2001 recipient of the Airlines Avionics Institute’s (AAI’s) Volare award. The award recognizes "his concept and architecture for a fully integrated triple GPS/FMS system as the heart of the Boeing 747 Cockpit Upgrade Program," according to an AAI release, referring to his work on the classic long-range aircraft. Gordon-Smith received his award at the Airlines Electronic Engineering Committee (AEEC) meeting held in November in Palm Springs, Calif.
Mid-Continent Instruments: Promotions
Wichita, Kan.-based Mid-Continent Instruments recently promoted Bryan Miner and Bryan Sitner to the position of assistant shop manager for the company’s West Coast Division, in Van Nuys, Calif. Matte Fowle is the facility’s manager. Miner, who has been with Mid-Continent for eight years, directs shop production. Jack Pouchet has been promoted to the position of director of corporate communications for the Racal Instruments group of companies, headquartered in Irvine, Calif.
