Avionics Technicians
Banyan Air Service at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport has appointed John DiMattei as avionics engineer and Patrick Daniel as a technician installing avionics systems and components. DiMattei is responsible for design and engineering services for avionics installations and upgrades for turbine-powered business aircraft. This includes producing computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, ensuring the proper integration into exiting aircraft systems and checking compatibility between new and existing avionics. Daniel is qualified to work on all types of avionics equipment, including communications, navigation, DME, radar and packages such as enhanced vision systems and head-up displays. Robert Mehmel
Parsippany, N.J.-based DRS Technologies Inc. has promoted Robert Mehmel to executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will oversee the company’s domestic and international operations. Mehmel was previously executive vice president of business operations and strategy for DRS. Executive Changes
Christophe Bernardini is the new chief executive officer and president of the board of directors of TAT Industries, a European aircraft maintenance provider. He was previously president and managing director of Sabena Technics and assistant managing director of TAT. The appointment comes after the company’s recent creation of a supervisory committee and board of directors, following TAT’s acquisition of Sabena in July 2005. Joseph Howell

Kevin Buckley
Col. Kevin Buckley has assumed command of the U.S. Air Force’s C-130 Systems Group within the Mobility System Wing. That group is part of the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He takes over from Col. Kevin Harms, who now leads the B-2 Systems Group at ASC. New Appointments
The board of directors of Aviareto, a Dublin, Ireland-based registrar for the air transport industry, has appointed Niall Greene as managing director and Rob Cowan as head of operations. Greene was formerly with GE Capital Aviation Services, where he was managing director and senior vice president of business development. Donald Goff
Elbit Systems Ltd. of Israel has appointed Donald Goff as vice president of government relations for its U.S. subsidiary. He will further develop legislative, regulatory and user activities relating to commercial aviation and the Department of Defense. Nissim Hadas

Saket, Thorell
Amir Saket is the new director of operations for Sabritec, a connector and cable device manufacturer in Irvine, Calif. The company also has named Fredrik Thorell as applications engineer. Saket will develop and maintain manufacturing business plans in support of customer requirements. Thorell will serve as a liaison between customers and the engineering department. John Micheletti
The Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), San Antonio, Texas, has promoted John Micheletti to assistant director of the Advanced Technologies department within its Training, Simulation and Performance Improvement division. He will help oversee a group of engineers focused on developing advanced simulation technologies.
