Era Corp. said Oslo Airport in Norway selected Holland Institute of Traffic Technology (HITT) and Era to expand surface surveillance with Era’s MSS network of multilateration and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) sensors and Squid vehicle tracking units. Oslo will add Era’s multilatareration and ADS-B surveillance technology to an extensive surface tracking and aircraft routing system, including primary X band radar and a taxiway guidance lighting system. Era’s solution includes its Squid ADS-B vehicle transponders, which will allow ground vehicles to be managed using the same technology used by aircraft. This enables air traffic controllers a single view of all surface traffic in all weather conditions.
