Shandong Airlines Selects Rockwell Collins

Chinese airline Shandong Airlines selected a Rockwell Collins avionics suite, including the MultiScan Hazard Detection System, Model 4000 Head-Up Guidance System (HGS) and Programmable Audio Video Entertainment System (PAVES), for 18 Boeing 737-800s. Deliveries are scheduled for 2007 through 2009. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Rockwell Collins said PAVES provides Shandong Airlines with overhead video on 10.4-inch retractable liquid crystal displays and offers offers 22 channels of high-fidelity digital in-seat audio programming. Other products chosen by the airline include the GLU-920 Multi Mode Receiver (MMR), ADF-900 Automatic Direction Finder, VOR-900 VHF Omnidirectional Radio, DFA-901 Direction Finding Antenna, DME-900 Distance Measuring Equipment, HFS-900 and HFS-900D High Frequency Systems, PAU-700 Passenger Address Unit, LRA-900 Low-range Radio Altimeter, VHF-920 Very High Frequency Transceiver, TPR-901 Mode S Transponder and TCAS Traffic Alert Collision Avoidance System.
