Raytheon Wins Airborne Sonar Work

Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems division won a $15.4 million contract from the U.S. Navy for the procurement of three Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS) systems for Sikorsky’s MH-60R helicopter, an ALFS Sonar Transmitter/Receiver Control Module Technical Refresh effort and ALFS Automated Test Equipment Procedure Enhancement. Raytheon said the ALFS is an integrated dipping sonar system for the MH-60R helicopter. It is the primary anti-submarine warfare sensor supporting the Navy’s Helicopter Master Plan.Work will be performed in Portsmouth, R.I., and is expected to be completed in May 2009.
