Thales will provide avionics and cockpit systems for Airbus’s new long-range, wide-body A350, a contract expected to generate up to $2.9 billion over the 20-year life of the contract. The package includes the Integrated Modular Avionics suite, the Interactive Control and Display Systems and the Air Data and Inertial reference unit for the new A350 XWB aircraft, which is expected to enter service in 2013. Other suppliers of the A350 include Rockwell Collins, which will supply the Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer Actuator; Honeywell, which will supply the auxiliary power unit; and Goodrich Corp., which will supply the nacelle and thrust reverser systems.
