Sensis Corp., Syracuse, N.Y., named company veteran Marc Viggiano to the newly created position of chief operating officer. As COO, he is responsible for all company operating areas, including Air Traffic Systems, Defense & Security Systems and Advanced Development and Operations.

After 11 years with the company’s Defense business, Viggiano launched the Sensis Air Traffic Systems division in 1997 and oversaw its growth as a supplier of air-traffic surveillance and automation solutions. In 2007, he was appointed the company’s first chief strategy officer.

“Throughout his more than 20-year career with Sensis, Marc has helped Sensis grow from a small study house to a global technology company with solutions deployed in more than 30 countries, across five continents,” said Jud Gostin, Sensis president and CEO.

Sensis also announced that retired Vice Admiral John G. Morgan, Jr., is taking Viggiano’s place as chief strategy officer.
