Panasonic Avionics Corp., of Lake Forest, Calif., installed its eX2 in-flight entertainment (IFE) system on two Boeing 777-300ERs for Air Austral, La Réunion, France. The eX2-equipped aircraft will enter service this month, the company said. Originally known as Réunion Air Service, the airline started operations in March 1975. Starting April 1, 2009, the company began flights to Sydney, Australia, and Nouméa, the capital of New Caledonia in the South Pacific.  Air Austral has Panasonic’s IFE systems installed on three Boeing 777-200 aircraft. The eX2 system provides passengers with access to applications such as audio and video on demand (AVOD), moving maps and games.
