US Airways announced plans Thursday to equip its aircraft with in-flight Web capabilities, signing a deal with Aircell to provide Gogo service beginning in 2010. Full Internet access including Web, instant messaging, e-mail and VPN access will be available for purchase to passengers with laptops, smartphones and other Wi-Fi enabled devices. Gogo will initially be installed on US Airways A321s flying select domestic routes. With this contract, US Airways becomes the eighth carrier to sign on for the service, which turns the aircraft into a Wi-Fi "hot spot." Other airlines that have announced plans to install the equipment on their aircraft include Delta, United Airlines and Air Canada.
