Boeing said Thursday it completed its $580 million acquisition of a 787 plant in South Carolina. The company said it completed the acquisition of the business and operations conducted by Vought Aircraft Industries at North Charleston, S.C., facility. The newly acquired facility will be called Boeing Charleston, and will be managed by the 787 program as a wholly owned subsidiary. Boeing said the plant will continue to perform fabrication, assembly and systems installation for 787 aft fuselage sections. For related news
