Barco of Belgium announced a partnership with Monitor Soft, a Zhukovsky, Russia-based aerospace company, to provide cockpit mission systems for the Russian market. The companies announced the deal at this week’s Moscow Airshow. “The Russian market has always been an important focus for us, and in 10 years time, we have achieved a very dominant market share on civil aircraft,” said Yves Vanhauwaert, avionics market director at Barco. “This agreement with Monitor Soft enables us to tap into the important market for mission management applications, based around our MDU-268 platform. Regardless of the economic climate, there is a great potential for these versatile, state-of-the-art mission display applications that can be installed on both fixed and rotary-wing platforms.” Barco’s MDU-268 Mission Display Unit is a 6-inch by 8-inch display derived from its Cockpit Head Down Display family. Features include sunlight-readable AMLCD, and compatible with FLIR, daylight video cameras, moving maps, computers and radar.
