CSSI, based in Washington, D.C., was awarded a five-year, $9.5 million contract to work with FAA and ICAO on vertical, lateral and longitudinal separation standards for air traffic. Under the contract, CSSI will provide RVSM altitude-monitoring services in North America, and will support the reduction of lateral and longitudinal separation standards in Arctic and North Atlantic airspace, which will both provide more efficient flight routes, significant fuel savings and emission reductions. Also, under the contract, CSSI said it will support FAA’s representatives to the ICAO Separation and Airspace Safety Panel, an international group developing global aircraft separation requirements.
