Rockwell Collins will use a software program from PTC, of Needham, Mass., for its S1000D initiative, a campaign to improve efficiencies in creating, maintaining and delivering technical publications. The Arbortext system provides tools for compliance with the S1000D specification, the company said. Rockwell Collins will use the system to generate, manage and deliver product information worldwide. Arbortext for S1000D also provides integrated software components that repurpose S1000D data modules to accommodate the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) standard for web-based eLearning, PTC said.
