Behlman Electronics, of Hauppauge, N.Y., was awarded a follow-on order for the U.S. Air Force to provide its DMCA4000 power supply for the RC-135 Rivet Joint all-weather surveillance aircraft.
“Initially, having only to reconfigure our standard power units to meet the unique needs of the RC-135 Rivet Joint aircraft exemplified the very best of COTS engineering. Now we are proud that our COTS DMCA power supplies have provided such exemplary performance on the RC-135 that they continue to be the USAF’s power supply of choice for this aircraft,” said Ron Storm, Behlman vice president of sales and marketing.
Behlman’s DMCA4000 COTS power supplies are rugged 4,000-watt switch mode units built for high-end industrial and military applications. For airborne applications they are powered from three-phase AC aircraft power and provide outputs at +3.3 VDC, +5 VDC, + 12 VDC, – 12 VDC and – 28 VDC. They are designed to meet the input power requirements of Mil-Std-704.
The additional Behlman DMCA COTS power supplies for the RC-135 are scheduled for delivery in the third and fourth quarters of this year.
