The Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system was granted certification from Transport Canada (TC) on Bombardier Aerospace’s Global Vision flight deck. This marks the first certification of Pro Line Fusion on a customer aircraft.
“This is an important milestone, as Global Vision equipped aircrafts can now be granted a certificate of airworthiness. To date, we’ve completed over 600 hours of flight testing and are progressing full throttle towards certification of specific advanced features such as the incorporation of Enhanced Vision and Synthetic Vision on the head-up display,” said Stéphane Leblanc, vice president and general manager, Global Aircraft, Bombardier Business Aircraft.
“This is an industry-changing accomplishment,” said Greg Irmen, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems for Rockwell Collins. “The revolutionary capabilities of Pro Line Fusion on the Global Vision flight deck are the result of countless hours of dedicated teamwork between both companies.”
Certifications from FAA and EASA are expected to follow later this year, Rockwell Collins said. Entry into service is on schedule for early 2012.
