Rohde & Schwarz, of Munich, Germany, was selected to provide its ground-based, stationary radio system for Colombia air traffic control organization AeroCivil, the company said Thursday.
Under the terms of the contract, Rohde & Schwartz will supply 152 Series4200 radios, which will serve the entire Bogota flight information region. The company said the radios ensure reliable ground-air communications for both passenger and transport aircraft. The order includes the delivery and installation of the radios as well as a regular service check at six-month intervals.
The Series4200 radio family includes transmitters, receivers and spare parts for the VHF and UHF bands. The Series4200 provides VoIP functionality and VDL2 for reliable ground-air data communications.
