Marc Viggiano
The newly merged Saab Sensis Corp. appointed Marc Viggiano president and CEO. He replaces the retiring Jud Gostin who will continue as an advisor to the company.
Viggiano has more than 30 years of experience in the design and development of civilian and defense sensor and automation systems. Most recently, he was senior vice president and director of corporate development for Sensis and prior to that he served as COO at Sensis. Before joining Sensis, Viggiano worked in advanced sensor systems within GE’s aerospace group.
Warren Dannelly
Endicott Interconnect, Endicott, N.Y., appointed Warren Dannelly vice president of worldwide sales.
Warren has more than 30 years experience and previously was director of sales for aerospace and defense, Tyco Electronics Printed Circuit Group, and director of sales for Texas Instruments Defense Systems. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Christine Burgeson
The Air Transport Association named Christine Burgeson senior vice president, global government affairs.
A former senior lobbyist for President George W. Bush, Burgeson most recently headed her own consulting firm in Washington, D.C., CMB Insights LLC. Prior to that, she spent seven years at Citigroup as managing director of federal government affairs in the Citi Global Government Affairs office.
Tim Peters
Boeing named Tim Peters vice president and general manager of surveillance and engagement, a division of Boeing Defense, Space and Security’s Boeing Military Aircraft unit based in Kent, Wash. Peters succeeds Bob Feldmann, who will lead the effort to develop the Boeing 737 MAX.
Peters has been with Boeing for 25 years and most recently was vice president of global security systems within the information solutions division of Network and Space Systems.
West Star Aviation Appointments
West Star Aviation named George Laiten director of Bombardier programs in its East Alton, Ill., facility. Previously, Laiten was a maintenance technician with KC Aviation and a senior manager of customer support and MRO at Midcoast Aviation/Jet Aviation. He is also a licensed A&P mechanic and private pilot.
The company also named Don Ehler technical sales manager of its newest maintenance facility, Spirit of St. Louis Airport. Ehler has more than 30 years of experience, including positions in sales and corporate management. Most recently, he was parts and components/regional sales manager for AVMATS and he has been a private/instrument pilot and aircraft owner for 25 years.
Gulfstream Appointments
Gulfstream, based in Savannah, Ga., made a series of management moves throughout its divisions.
The company named Mike Quaid operations manager for the newly formed Western U.S. field service region. Most recently, Quaid was a senior regional field service representative in Southern California, a position he held since 2002. Prior to that, Quaid was a regional sales manager for the Gulfstream and General Dynamics Aviation Services maintenance facilities. Quaid is a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps and is a licensed commercial pilot with single- and multi-engine land and instrument ratings.
The company also named Jamie Fields director, repair and overhaul services. Fields is a 26-year Gulfstream employee and was most recently senior manager, maintenance, repair and overhaul.
Gulfstream promoted Darrell Frey, James Kelley and Jeff Kilgore to oversee and direct operations at the Gulfstream Savannah Service Center, which comprises the 679,000-square foot main facility and the 175,000-square foot satellite site, Gulfstream Savannah Service Center South.
Frey, a 24-year Gulfstream employee, was most recently general manager, Gulfstream Savannah Service Center. Kelley, who has been with Gulfstream for 25 years, was most recently the senior manager, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul, in Savannah. Kilgore, a 23-year Gulfstream employee, previously was senior operations manager in Savannah. Each of the new directors is a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic.
Additionally, the company named Derek Zimmerman vice president, product support materials. He will oversee the material supply chain, parts sales and worldwide parts distribution for the company’s product support organization.
Previously, Zimmerman was vice president, supply chain and aftermarket development, for Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach, Fla. Before that, he was manager, Supply Chain Operations, for Harley-Davidson’s vehicle assembly facility.
