Metron Aviation, a subsidiary of Airbus Americas based in Dulles, Va., promoted Jim Gaughan to chief operating officer. Gaughan previously held the position of executive vice president and general manager of the Advanced Research and Engineering Business Unit.
Gaughan has more than 25 years experience in traffic management, systems engineering, software development, product integration and testing. Under his leadership, Metron Aviation’s Advanced Research and Engineering Business Unit won the single largest award to a small business in FAA history, the System Engineering 2020 (SE-2020) Research and Mission Analysis Set-Aside Program, awarded to Metron Aviation in 2010.

Alan Bloodgood has been promoted to Gaughan’s former role as the senior vice president and general manager of the Advanced Research and Engineering Business Unit. Bloodgood has more than 20 years of experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM), real-time software engineering, systems integration and program management.
