Yes, video streaming is absolutely possible and Thrane & Thrane’s AVIATOR systems are conducting video streaming sessions in both business aviation (video conferencing) and MIL/GOV (ISR video streaming) settings. However, this capability is employed in combination with other components on board the aircraft such as video encoding/decoding devices and through the use of specific Inmarsat SwiftBroadband services, such as X-stream or QoS (Quality of Service) service options. Video streaming is not usually done in a background data setting.
