Thousands of air traffic management professionals will gather in Amsterdam this week to discuss the latest technologies and global efforts to modernize the airspace.
The three-day ATC Global Conference will kick off Tuesday with a keynote address by Matthew Baldwin, director, aviation and international affairs at the European Commission. Workshops, seminars and conference sessions will focus on Europe’s SESAR and FAA’s NextGen airspace modernization initiatives.
Speakers at the event include David McMillan, director general, Eurocontrol; Graham Lake, director general, CANSO; Patrick Ky, executive director, SESAR JU; Rich Ducharme, deputy chief operating officer, FAA; and Patrick Goudou, executive director, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The event will also include various technology demonstrations, including Harris’ System Wide Information Management (SWIM) network; ITT Exelis’ Surface Management application for airports, airlines and air navigation service providers, Symphony OpsVue; and the Saab Sensis Remote Tower concept.
