Deutsch will supply its MC6 optical connector for use in the Dassault Falcon 7X, the company announced Tuesday.
“Dassault has an outstanding heritage in civil and military aircraft. Using their military aviation experience, technical know-how and design flair they’ve kept the Falcon 7X at the forefront of advanced technologies. Naturally, with this background, Dassault is particularly rigorous in specifying, testing and selecting every component that goes into their aircraft. We’ve worked closely with their engineers for some time to ensure that the Deutsch MC6 connector exactly meets their needs. Now, following an extensive test program in line with Dassault’s requirements, we’re proud to say the MC6 has earned its place on board the aircraft,” said Michael O’Farrell, fiber optic product manager for Deutsch U.K.
The MC6 is a ruggedised, high-density, fibre optic connector featuring 12 to 24 channels per connector, with a future potential of up to 72. It uses the compact MIL-C-38999 Series III, size 11 shell, which is based on the Deutsch MC5 fibre optic connector, and also features an alternative connector option in the DMC-M (EN 4165/BACC65/ARINC 809). Deutsch said it can be used in a variety of applications including data bus and in-flight entertainment systems.
