Gulfstream received a FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its Elite interior package, which the company said clears the way for the optional interior upgrade to be installed on customer G550 and G450.
The Elite Interior, which was introduced at last year’s NBAA and includes elements from the company’s ultra-large-cabin Gulfstream G650, includes streamlined passenger service unit, fully loaded electronic seats and the Gulfstream Cabin Management System (GCMS). Other Elite interior enhancements include leather ledges, ambient LED lighting, upgraded seating and reconfigured galley and annex.
The GCMS allows passengers to control the lighting, temperature, speakers, monitors, entertainment equipment, window shades, CabinView Passenger Information System and attendant call via the Gulfstream app for iPod, iPhone and iPad, the company said. The STC for the Elite option means that GCMS can also be installed on the G650 and G280 aircraft, which are expected to enter service in the second quarter of this year.
“Gulfstream’s leadership in electronic design means we can provide the best and latest technology to our customers,” said Bob Geary, director, research and development, Final Phase, Gulfstream. “With the Elite interior, passengers can have total control over their environment thanks to touch-screen-based wireless handhelds that are part of the Gulfstream Cabin Management System.” More
