Mid-Continent Instruments has changed its name to Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics, a move the company says "better describes the company’s capabilities and underscores its commitment to provide its extensive customer base of general aviation repair facilities with a full range of services supporting avionics systems, instruments and power solutions." The company made the announcement at this week’s Aircraft Electronics Association’s (AEA) conference and exhibition in Washington, D.C.
“Our name reflects who we are and what we do,” said Todd Winter, president and CEO of Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics. “We’ve served as a supplier of instruments and technical support to a lot of general aviation service facilities over the years. They have learned they can rely on us for top-quality products and highly responsive repair and overhaul service. In recent months, we have been increasing our avionics repair and overhaul capabilities, and have received very positive feedback from our customers. At the same time, the effects of the economic downturn have forced some customers to curtail their repair and technical bench services or cut back staff. We have been asked to fill this void by offering the same type of reliable support on avionics systems that we provide for instrumentation. When it comes to conveying our commitment to these customers and the expansion of our services, we felt that the best way to do it was to put it right in our name."
