Astro-Med will produce airborne printers for Honeywell’s business jet and regional jet avionics suites, under a contract announced Wednesday.
The two companies signed a long-term manufacturing and product life cycle support agreement to make the Astro-Med ToughWriter 5 cockpit printer available as an option on its Primus Epic flight deck. Astro-Med currently furnishes cockpit printers for larger commercial aircraft equipped with Honeywell avionics.
ToughWriter 5 equipage for smaller aircraft is subject to regulatory certification, according to Astro-Med. The company anticipates demand for up to 150 ToughWriter printers per year as a result of the new agreement.
"This ToughWriter 5 business jet contract is the latest in a series of agreements between Honeywell Aerospace and Astro-Med that we believe bring strong benefits to both companies,” said Thomas W. Carll, vice president at Astro-Med.
