Embraer has added several new component suppliers for its second generation of regional jets, whose commercial launch is expected later this year, the company said Friday.
The Brazilian airframe manufacturer selected Zodiac Aerospace Group subsidiary Intertechnique to supply the systems for the engine, APU and fueling system components. In January, Pratt & Whitney’s PW1700G engines were selected to power the second family of E-Jets.
Additionally, Crane Aerospace & Electronics was selected to supply the electronic control module for the landing gear and brake control systems. The Trumph Group will supply fuselage segments and Aernnova Aerospace S.A will supply vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
The re-engined E-Jets are expected to enter service in 2018.
