FreeFlight Systems on Thursday announced TSO authorization from FAA for its RANGR FDL-978-XVR ADS-B transceiver family.
The transceiver provides ADS-B In and ADS-B Out capability within a single box, as airspace users move closer to FAA’s 2020 ADS-B equipage mandate. Pilots using the RANGR will have access to to traffic, graphical weather and other data displayed on a compatible MFD or iPad, with FreeFlight’s WiFi module.
Additionally, the system features internal Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) and GPS capability.
According to a representative for FreeFlight, the company will have a list of approved aircraft by the end of the month for the transceiver.
