Korean Air has renewed its contract agreements to keep ARINC as it primary satellite communications (Satcom) provider.
The contract renewal will keep ARINC’s AviNet Airport, Type A and Type B messaging as well as a full range of data link and voice flight communications services operational for Korean Air. The Seoul-based carrier first started working with ARINC in 1987.
The Korean airline will keep these services operational on its mixed fleet of 149 Boeing and Airbus passenger and cargo aircraft.
Rockwell Collins is currently awaiting regulatory approval for its $1.39 billion purchase of ARINC announced earlier this month.
