The new enhancements include Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required (RNP AR) 0.3 capability, giving pilots better airport access in low-visibility conditions, while also reducing operating costs, noise and emissions for airlines. The aerospace and defense manufacturer said the enhancements are aimed at accommodating air traffic management advancements with Europe’s SESAR program and NextGen in the United States.

The avionics platform will also receive upgrades to the flight management system and the addition of interactive electronic checklists which can be updated by flight departments at their own convenience.

New upgrades are scheduled for first release on production Bombardier Global 5000 and Global 6000 jets.
