Portugual carrier Hi Fly is moving to an electronic flight environment, under a new five-year service agreement with Jeppesen to add electronic flight bag (EFB) services to its international wet lease flights.

The airline will use Jeppesen’s iPad-based FliteDeck Pro to access EFB and navigation information. Transitioning to EFBs will allow Hi Fly to eliminate all
paper-based flight planning materials, increasing fuel efficiency and situational awareness.

Hi Fly provides airlines with aircraft, crew and maintenance through wet lease agreements.

“Through this agreement, we are seeking to become a fully digital operator and remove cumbersome paper from the flight deck,” said Carlos Mirpuri, vice president at Hi Fly.  “Wet lease operations provide a set of unique operating challenges and Jeppesen services provide the basis for fully digital flights that easily integrate with our customer operating systems.”
