[Avionics Today January 29, 2014] Luxembourg-based international business aviation provider TAG Aviation is introducing iPad-based Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) to its Switzerland-based fleet.

The Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) recently granted authorization for TAG to begin integrating EFB technology into its operation. TAG has selected Boeing Digital subsidiary Jeppesen’s Mobile FliteDeck.

“The paperless technology allows pilots to quickly access up-to-date information which simplifies pre-flight planning and ensures efficient in-flight operations. The iPad is a great tool for that, which everybody likes to work with,” said Damien Chollet, deputy postholder, flight operations at TAG Aviation

TAG’s iPad EFB is backed with AirWatch mobile device management, allowing operators to manage data remotely and ensure crews are using the most updated version of the EFB applications. The company is looking to integrate EFBs into its entire worldwide fleet of 130 aircraft, with fleets based in the U.K., Spain, Bahrain and China.
