Aegean Airlines, the largest airline in Greece, is upgrading its fleet wide flight procedures with a Lufthansa Systems package, including a five-year contract for the Lido/Flight flight planning solution, as well as the Lido/RouteManual, Lido/eRouteManual and Mobility Suite navigation charts.
According to Lufthansa Systems, flight route calculations can reduce fuel costs by up to 5 percent for Aegean by taking into account current flight related data. The package also includes Lido/eRouteManual and Mobility Suite for the iPad which will provide weekly updated charts based on the Lido navigation databases with information regarding altitude and airport data.
“We need a powerful flight planning system and first-class navigation charts to ensure efficient and flexible day-to-day operations. We selected Lido/Flight because of its high degree of automation and strong route optimization capabilities," said Zissis Pehlevanoudis, director of flight operations at Aegean Airlines.
