The joint venture will be based in Chengdu, Sichuan and will add more aircraft to Rockwell Collins’ previous avionics development efforts in the region, which include the ARJ21, MA60/600, Y8, Y12, K8, AC312 and AC352. Rockwell Collins CEO Kelly Ortberg said the company is continuously looking to support the “rapidly growing opportunities in the region,” as China continues to advance its state-sponsored aircraft manufacturing industry.
“I firmly believe that through the unremitting efforts, RCCAC will become a world-class avionics company and play a significant role in the China trunk liner development project,” said CETC Vice President and CETCA Chairman Zuo Qunsheng.
