[Avionics Today 08-18-2014] The Airbus A350-900, a new widebody airliner, recently landed in Tolouse, France, completing a three-week, 14-city route proving tour. During the technical route proving tour, the aircraft must demonstrate readiness for airline operations on a global scale. While on its world tour, the MSN 005 flight test aircraft flew an estimated 81,000 nm/151,3000 km in 180 flight hours.
“The aircraft has performed remarkably well confirming the high level of maturity that it has been demonstrating all the way during our development and certification tests. We are set for the Type Certification in the coming weeks, as planned”, said Fernando Alonso, senior vice president of flight and integration tests at Airbus.
