[Avionics Today 08-20-2014] Garmin Pilot, the flight path and weather navigation system that pilots can access via iPhone or iPad, will be extending coverage to Canada. Currently available for download in the iTunes store, Jepessen provides coverage for Garmin Pilot Canada Premium in both Canada and the U.S.
The technology equips pilots with interactive maps and flight charts that include approaches, departures and arrival procedures and airport diagrams. Pilots can also access worldwide METARs, TAFs, AIRMETs, SIGMETs, NOTAMs and winds aloft information, as well as a 3-D depiction of ground, water, obstacles, terrain and runway environment information with the technology.
