[Avionics Today 12-26-2014] Kuwait Airways has finalized its $3.3 billion order for 10 Boeing 777-300ERs. The Middle East carrier originally announced its intent for the 777-300ER order in November.

“Kuwait Airways has plans to renew its fleet as well as expand its operations and the 777-300ER is a perfect airplane for our strategy,” said Rasha Al Roumi, Kuwait Airways CEO. “The airplane has already validated its position in terms of high reliability, low operating costs and fuel efficiency. We are looking forward to having the 777-300ER join our fleet.”
The order shows that Boeing is still seeing demand for the existing 777, as customers await the 777X, a challenge that Avionics Magazine recently examined. In 2014, Boeing has received a total of 269 orders for 777 family aircraft.
