[Avionics Today 01-28-2015] Boeing has reported a record fourth-quarter revenue of $24.5 billion on higher deliveries in 2014. Fourth-quarter 2014 core operating earnings increased to $2.3 billion while earnings from operations increased to $2 billion.
Revenue rose 5 percent in the full year to a record $90.8 billion and core earnings per share increased 22 percent. For 2015 the company plans to continue to build on its commercial market and strengthen its defense, space and security business.
“Our commercial airplanes business successfully increased production rates and set an industry record for annual deliveries while also growing its backlog to new highs on record new orders for the year. Our Defense, Space & Security team navigated a challenging market environment to achieve solid revenue and healthy margins while also winning significant new contracts,” said Boeing Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jim McNerney.
