[Avionics Today 03-06-2015] Changi Airport Group has awarded a contract for Exelis to deploy its Osyris pre-departure sequence planner at Singapore Changi Airport. When implemented, the two entities aim for the Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) software to achieve favorable gate pushback times for all departing aircraft, ensuring an optimized departure sequence.
“The Osyris pre-departure sequence planner minimizes aircraft queue lengths and taxiing time to deliver a highly predictable flow of traffic to the runways. It achieves this while considering the operational constraints on the airport surface and in the surrounding airspace,” said Exelis Managing Director Orthogon Frank Koehne.
Osyris is a stepping stone toward Changi Airport’s adoption of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM), which will enhance airport airside flow and capacity management. The A-CDM concept partners airport and aircraft operators, ground handlers, ATC and network operations to work more efficiently and transparently and to share data. This results in overall airport system efficiency, predictability and punctuality of traffic movements.
