[Avionics Today 03-13-2015] Executive members of the interoperability Through European Collaboration (iTEC) project have signed a formal agreement this week at the World ATM Congress in Madrid, extending the technical and commercial confines of the collaboration between its members and committing to the conditions for developing the common iTEC Controller Working Position (CWP).
iTEC brings together the Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) of Spain (ENAIRE), Germany (DFS), the U.K. (NATS) and the Netherlands (LVNL), alongside systems provider Indra. The project was initially established to develop a more advanced Air Traffic Management (ATM) system within the requirements of SESAR and, more specifically, to develop a next-generation Flight Data Processing (FDP) system and to explore collaboration on a Controller Working Position (CWP).
The extension of the existing collaboration recognizes the success in developing the iTEC-FDP system together and more recently agreeing the common specifications for the iTEC-CWP, while maintaining interoperability with other European ATM systems. It also takes another step in furthering the Single European Sky initiative.
