[Avionics Today 04-14-2015] Vistara has selected BAE Systems’ IntelliCabin system to equip its entire fleet of A320 aircraft with In-Flight Connectivity (IFC). The system is capable of streaming preloaded content to customers’ Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) and also includes fully integrated Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets for business-class customers.

BAE expects the IFE system to go live in another six months. In the interim, BAE will provide Vistara’s business-class customers with customized Samsung Galaxy tablets with specially selected, preloaded content on flights of more than two hours, beginning next month.

“We are extremely happy to be launching the pioneering technology of in-flight wireless streaming in India,” said Prasad Menon, chairman of Vistara, noting that the system offers the potential for live TV and full Wi-Fi on board.
