[Avionics Today 06-29-2015] Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) is supplying In-flight Connectivity (IFC) on Norwegian Air Shuttle’s (NAS) new flights to the Caribbean region, according to Dave Davis, CEO of GEE.

“We look forward to enabling Norwegian to launch its new Caribbean flights with Live TV, the Caribbean’s first free WIFI, music streaming, the latest movies and more.  As Norwegian and NAS grow their fleet and add regions to their global portfolio, GEE has the satellite capacity through a strategic partnership with SES to meet the connectivity and entertainment demands of their passengers,” said Davis.

The agreement reflects an extension of NAS’s existing use of GEE’s AirConnect IFC system. NAS has announced it will start operating flights from several northeast cities in the U.S. to Caribbean destinations beginning Dec. 3, 2015. The flights will be seasonal, operated with Boeing 737-800s.
