[Avionics Today 09-03-2015] After receiving its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) at Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport in Putrajaya, Malaysia Airlines has launched under a new company, Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB).
To qualify for the AOC, MAB was required to undergo months of audit activities, which included air-worthiness of the airline’s operations, aircraft maintenance, as well as regulatory conformity. MAB launched operations on Sept. 1 and recorded a 89.8 percent On-Time Performance (OTP) on MAB’s first operational day. The airline aims for a seamless transition from MAS to MAB as it focuses on stabilizing its operations to ensure on-time performance.
