[Avionics Today 10-23-2015] United Technologies Research Centre Ireland Limited (UTRC Ireland), the European research hub of United Technologies Research Center (UTRC), is lead in the Mission project under the European Union’s Clean Sky 2 program.
Mission, an $12.3 million program, funds the development of new, integrated modeling, simulation and optimization tools to incorporate Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in all stages of aircraft design and development. The project’s results will lead to a common modeling and simulation framework for applications in various technology developments within the Clean Sky 2 Systems Integrated Technology Demonstrator (ITD), and will support the integration and demonstration of such technologies through virtual tests. The Systems ITD, led by Liebherr and Thales, is developing and building highly integrated, high TRL demonstrators across major aircraft systems.
Collaborating with UTRC Ireland in the program are: UTRC’s Advanced Laboratory for Embedded Systems Srl (ALES) in Rome, Italy; UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS); and German companies dSPACE and ITI.
